Surjo is one of the oldest recognized gods on Zalora. The name comes from a forgotten language that has been lost in the mists of time. Surjo is female in form and is depicted in 3 separate forms in the various places that she has been worshiped. These forms are best described as the maiden, mother and hag. The mythological role which she fills is guardian of the sun. However, she shows up in none of the pantheons and stands apart from them all. Recently worship has dropped off for a variety of reasons. First for the most part the temples and sites of worship are no where near centers of civilization. Second the rituals and ceremonies that are required are performed in the aforementioned lost language and by modern standard are overly complicated and intrusive for the modern way of life. Among the interesting notes is that almost all of the temples are identical in their construction and layout and appear to have been built at the same time by multiple different races on both continents. The temples are all a circle broken into four sections, two for worship facing the rising and setting suns. The natural movement of the sun will range from rising or setting in line with one wall of the worship rooms and move during time to the other and vice versa. The other rooms are for the priests cells as well as the administration of the temple. In the central pillar that joins all four sections together is a crystal of unknown composition that focuses and redirects the sun to hemispherical shaped reflecting mirrors that bring the suns light to all of the rooms and in specific places are strong enough in their power to provide heat and cooking capability.
